Four sounds, two arenas
Best of Both Worlds returns to Heartfelt Arena in Thaba Tshwane, Pretoria, on Wednesday, 16 December 2026, with a two-stage programme spanning Afro-house, Amapiano, Gqom and Lekompo. The official Howler listing gives the event window as midday on 16 December until midnight at the start of 17 December.
The first arena is billed as Afro-house x Amapiano. Black Coffee and Shimza lead a programme that also includes Sun-El Musician, Darque, Desiree, DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, Kelvin Momo, Zee Nxumalo, Njelic and Tman Xpress.
The second arena is dedicated to Gqom x Lekompo. DJ Tira, Dlala Thukzin, DJ Lag and Distruction Boyz appear alongside Dankie Boi, Mgilane, King Monada, Makhadzi, Shandesh, Naqua, Hitboss, Natiey Lepaka and Tribal King. These names appear on the organiser’s current public lineup; performance order and individual set times have not been published in the reviewed listing.
A rare shared platform for Lekompo and Gqom
The festival’s most distinctive choice is to place Lekompo and Gqom in the same arena rather than treating them as isolated regional scenes. Both have developed strong dancefloor identities, but their crossover into large, multi-genre bills remains an important signal about what promoters believe audiences want to hear.
Amapiano and Afro-house already have well-established festival circuits. Bringing their headline names together with King Monada, Makhadzi and emerging Lekompo performers gives the second arena equal billing rather than a token slot. Whether the two-stage format delivers on that promise will depend on scheduling and production on the day.
Tickets and getting there
The event is at Heartfelt Arena, 1000 Voortrekker Road, Thaba Tshwane, Pretoria. The official ticketing page is Howler. A 25 October listing by Viranova showed general admission Phase 5 at R800, with earlier phases sold out, and various table and lounge packages. Prices and availability can change; the live Howler checkout should be treated as authoritative.
Entry is restricted to people older than 18. The organiser recommends e-hailing rather than private parking arrangements and prohibits weapons, cooler boxes, camp chairs and illegal substances. Attendees should confirm any additional venue rules directly with the ticketing provider.
For Pretoria audiences, the date places several of South Africa’s most influential electronic music scenes in one venue on the Day of Reconciliation. The lineup is already substantial; the practical next step is to watch for stage times and transport updates rather than assume unannounced performances.
