A week to go before the Big Top Arena show
South African singer-songwriter Mthunzi is scheduled to return to Carnival City’s Big Top Arena on Saturday, 24 October 2026, for A Night With Mthunzi & Friends. The venue’s official listing confirms the date, location and tickets advertised from R250 per person.
The event follows the vocalist’s A Night With Mthunzi live-show format and promises performances with musical collaborators. The organiser has not supplied a complete named guest list on the official event page reviewed for this report, so unconfirmed names should not be treated as part of the bill.
A singer whose sound crosses genres
Mthunzi’s music sits between Afropop, soulful vocals and amapiano. His collaborations, including the widely heard Isimo project with Kabza De Small, have introduced his voice to audiences beyond conventional live-band and R&B circuits.
For fans, the appeal of the Carnival City show is the prospect of hearing that repertoire in a concert setting rather than only through streaming playlists or DJ sets. The precise running order and special-guest appearances remain subject to the organiser’s announcements.
Tickets, venue and entry rules
Carnival City lists the event at the Big Top Arena on 24 October, with tickets starting at R250. The venue states that under-18s are not permitted. Parking is advertised at R20 per vehicle, with free parking for qualifying MVG members.
Attendees should confirm current prices, availability, showtime and any last-minute changes directly through the venue’s official event listing before travelling. The published ticket starting price does not guarantee that every seating category remains available.
Why this one matters
A concert led by a vocalist associated with amapiano’s mainstream rise is another sign of how South African dance music and Afropop are moving between studio collaborations and ticketed live performance. The event’s emphasis is on the singer’s catalogue and the musicians around him rather than a conventional multi-stage festival programme.
CREATIVE KONG will update this guide if the organiser confirms additional guests or changes to the advertised arrangements.
