A complete bill across two generations of dance music
Oskido’s Big Day Out has moved from teaser announcements to a full programme for its third edition. The 19 October lineup announcement brings together names that shaped South African kwaito and house with contemporary selectors, while introducing a second stage at Huddle Park in Johannesburg.
The main stage bill includes Brothers of Peace (B.O.P), Mdu, Liquideep, Trompies, Oskido, DJ Cleo, Glen Lewis, DJ Fresh, DJ Mbuso, DJ Ganyani, Nokwazi, Durban’s Finest, DJ Cndo and DJs at Work. Durban’s Finest pairs DJ Tira and DJ Sox, whose inclusion had been announced in an earlier lineup phase.
The Namba Stage makes room for deep house
The new Namba Stage is programmed for a different pace. Its announced performers are Sir LSG and DJ SoulDiva, Dark Horse, D’General, Mr Shane, Chymamusique, Sculptured Music and Bobsta back-to-back with Sabz. The addition gives deep and soulful house a defined place rather than treating it as a brief detour from the main-stage classics.
The event also confirmed a partnership with Kaya959, adding a broadcast and media partner to the previously announced FNB relationship. Oskido’s national Order of Ikhamanga honour, awarded in 2026, forms part of the edition’s wider celebration of his influence on South African music.
Date, venue and tickets
Big Day Out is scheduled for Saturday, 28 November 2026 at Huddle Park, Linksfield, Johannesburg, from 12:00 to 22:00. Organisers direct ticket buyers to Webtickets and list general-admission, VIP and premium hospitality options. Ticket prices and availability can change, so the price displayed at checkout should be treated as definitive.
The confirmed programme spans house, kwaito, amapiano and hip hop. A final lineup announcement gives fans more useful information than a broad promise of “more acts to come”, but stage-by-stage running orders and any changes should still be checked through the official festival channels before travel.
For CREATIVE KONG readers, the value is in the curatorial split: an established catalogue of dancefloor anthems on one stage and a dedicated deep-house space on the other. It is a rare bill that puts several chapters of South African club culture in the same venue on the same day.
