The Station gets a piano takeover

Piano People will stage its Johannesburg edition at Old Park Station in Newtown on Saturday, 28 November 2026. The organisers, Piano People and Anything Goes, have confirmed an extensive lineup led by Uncle Waffles, Focalistic, Dlala Thukzin and Oscar Mbo. The event is billed as Piano People At The Station.

The sets to watch

A Kelvin Momo back-to-back with Njelic is among the most distinctive bookings on the bill. Nkulee501 and Sxova are also listed for a joint set. Additional confirmed names include 031 Choppa, Anchorbee, Royal Musiq, Soul Nativez, Success SA and Uncool MC, with Angekebabuye_MC hosting. The organiser has not published individual set times in the listings reviewed.

Why Old Park Station matters

The historic railway hall gives the festival a distinctive Johannesburg setting. The city edition follows Piano People’s growth as an international platform for amapiano and African dance music, while keeping South African performers at the centre of the programme. The same summer series is scheduled to reach Cabo Beach Club in Cape Town on 30 December, where Scorpion Kings are listed among the headliners.

Tickets, timing and getting home

Tickets are listed through the official Howler platform. The event listing header opens at 14:00, while the organiser’s detailed programme states 16:00–02:00; attendees should confirm the admission time printed on their ticket. Entry is restricted to adults aged 18 and over. The organiser also advertises park-and-ride options from Montecasino, Nelson Mandela Square, Gold Reef City Casino and Mall of Africa, with transport add-ons available during ticket checkout.

The practical details

The venue is Old Park Station, 140 Carr Street, Newtown, Johannesburg. Tickets and tables are offered through the official booking page, but release tiers and prices can change or sell out. The organisers describe the event as cashless. As with any major live event, use the organiser’s ticket page for the latest access conditions rather than assuming an earlier price or door time remains unchanged.
